ONLINE CLASS VS OFFLINE CLASS

Today, there’s something special in this English club, from the title we can guess that there’s debating. The topic is about “Online Class vs Offline Class. So why we did bring up this topic? As we know some schools have already opened offline school but some people are still worried because Corona isn’t over yet. Now let’s see the opinion of the students about online class and offline class in debating. The team is divided into boys and girls team. The boys team is the pros and the girls team is the cons. In the division of the teams, one person is taken as a representative from each class level. The boys were representatives by Nathanael from grade 7, Patrick from grade 8, and Harvey grade 9. There are Ella represented grade 9, Marsha grade 8, and Matacha grade 7 in the girls team. The debate was really fun and exciting. The enthusiasm and ambition of the two teams were so felt from the beginning until the end of the debate.

Both teams were very ambitious to win. Boys started the debate with their opinion about the good things we got in the online class, Harvey said that we are more creative in the online class. Then, girls continued the debate with their opinion about the benefit we got from the offline class, we can socialize with others. In the beginning, the debate went smoothly and both teams were still calm. In the middle of the debate, the atmosphere grew tenser. Many of the teachers agreed more with the opinion of the boys team and that made the ambitious side of the girls team come out. In this debate the boys team and the girls team debated about many things that happened in the online class and offline class such as good memories, life experiences, and also the friendship connections that we can have in offline or online class and so on they reversed their opinions and also their disagreements each other. Both teams argued and tried to defend their opinion.

so many debating, we were at the end of this debate. Mr Emmet said that it’s not the debate like war but just friendly conversation so didn’t take it to our heart. Miss Jennifer was really admired to their enthusiasm and ambition in debating, they used various vocabularies, Miss Sety also gave appreciation to the both teams. At the last time we did reflection and polls to determine the winner of this debate by using mentimeter and the girls team won the debate, but winning or losing is not important but the big points are the students able to express their opinion, dare to speak, got the best experience and also shared so much fun. That’s all about our activities today in the English Class.
