WINNING IN FESPARAWI

Hi friends, I happen to be a new student in Tarakanita 4 junior high school. So right now I’m in 7th grade or the 1st grade in junior high. I think going to school in Tarakanita 4 is very fun, even though I’m still a new student we could feel the love coming from our teachers. I just remembered we had a competition this recently in January, this competition is know by quite a lot of schools, Fesparawi quire Festival Gerajawi Majelis Education Catholic Keuskupan Agung Jakarta that was held on the 21st of January 2017. Fesparawi is a competition usually held for students in High School, but this year they invited the students from Junior High School.

In this competition, our school decided it to select some students in the 7th and 8th grade to represent our school in the said competition. After we chose who would represent our schoo, we had a small meeting for it. We practiced from December until January before the competition was held.
But because we had accepted our report card we had to pause our practice so we could go on a holiday like all the other students. After we went back to school we continued our practice. We practiced with full responsibility and energy, all though we did have to practice on Saturdays too so we had to sacrifice our day off from school for it.
Finally the day  when the competition was held had arrived. We gathered at our school and practiced again before we left for Santa Maria Junior High School in Juanda. We kept on practicing and prayed until the time to perform has arrived. We waited back stage and we started getting nervous hearing how good all the other schools were. And then we finally heard our school’s name being called, so we went on to the stage to perform.

When the music played, I think that our pianist, Ibeth, was nervous because she messed up at first but then quickly recovered and replayed the music. While we were singing we felt very nervous. I felt as though what Miss Ika, a Bahasa Indonesian teacher who’s loved by many students, thought us, we weren’t following with it on stage. And I think that by the first song we were already a mess. But God did not stay quiet. Lots of parents who attended said that our performance during Jingle Bell Rock was good. After we were done with our performance we went down the stage and a few of us went home, but there were still some who stayed for the results.

When I asked for the results, thank God we got 6th place. Even though we got last place and got gold rank, we are very grateful because God never stops being a part of our lives and is always helping us in so many ways even without us knowing. And I think that Miss Ika is one of the teachers that will always remind us that we can always rely on God to help us in many different ways.
